Hold & Spin is a bonus feature associated with the Lightning Link family and featured in the mobile app’s official description. The rules of the machine you opened determine its trigger, remaining spins, symbol values, and available jackpots. The feature name alone does not tell you every detail.

What the name describes

In the familiar held-symbol bonus pattern, qualifying symbols stay in place while further spins give opportunities to add more. The screen tracks the remaining attempts and any values already displayed. Depending on the machine’s rules, a new qualifying symbol can affect the counter or another part of the feature.

Use that pattern as an introduction, not a universal paytable. Lightning Link brings together several slot families, and added features can change how a particular bonus behaves. A video of one theme is not enough to establish the trigger for another. Do not assume a fixed number of required symbols or respins without checking the machine’s own information.

Open the rules before playing

The official game rules article directs players to the i icon in the bottom-left area of a selected slot. That opens the information panel for that machine; the help article describes using Next to move through its sections.

Look for the feature’s entry requirements, the value assigned to a symbol, and what ends the bonus. Also check whether a rule refers to the base game, free games, or another mode. If you are learning a new machine, keep the sound and visual settings comfortable and give yourself time to read the result. You do not need to increase the coin cost to understand the feature. Changing a spin amount is a spending choice within the game, not a way to guarantee a bonus trigger.

Jackpot labels need their own rules

Mini, Minor, Major, Grand, and similar labels should be read with the current machine’s instructions. There is another source of confusion: official help has also called the main lobby reward Hold & Spin, and an older naming update calls it Bonus Spin. More recent help describes Bonus Ready. This is a separate reward mini-game reached from the lobby, not the held-symbol feature inside a slot.

The lobby bonus article describes a small reel game and possible extra free games. Follow the timer and label shown in your version. When asking support a question, specify whether you mean a lobby reward or a named machine’s bonus.

Avoid timing and prediction claims

Repeated spins, a nearly full screen, or a previous bonus do not establish that the next result will be favorable. The official rules describe random, independent spin outcomes. Decide the session’s time and purchase budget in advance, and stop when that limit is reached.
